My story is unique because I was trafficked in Irvine, California—a city acclaimed for being one of the best places to raise a family and known for its low crime rates. Named America's safest city by the FBI every year since 2005, Irvine was where my life took an unimaginable turn. At the age of seven, I was drugged and trafficked by my grandmother until puberty. This is difficult to believe and has been for my own family, but many victims of trafficking are exploited by someone they know, often a family member.
My recovery has taken years, and among the many people who have helped me, THE PROJECT FOUNDATION has been a constant support. They have introduced me to key figures and helped me secure speaking engagements, enabling me to heal and share my story. Through their mentorship, I also had the opportunity to work with Malyneath, the founder of Global Fashion Mission LLC, a fair trade business supporting those affected by human trafficking. This experience has better prepared me to tell my story and become a more confident woman.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I wrote "Grandmother's House," a book about my childhood experiences of being trafficked by my grandmother. The book is available on Amazon. My intention is to share my story of hope and inspiration, focusing on my faith in Jesus Christ. Through the goodness of His love, God can transform a bitter story into an inspirational testimony.
